The President’s New Year’s greetings

Dear EUWUF Members,

First, on behalf of the EUWUF Board, I wish you a healthy, happy, and prosperous new year 2022.

After 2 years of an abnormal life during the biggest pandemic in our lifetime, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

May this year be the year of complete breakthrough in EUWUF’s “Quest” to be recognised by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) as “the” European continental wushu federation.

After the 2019 World Wushu Championships in Shanghai, a desire arose to do something against the mismanagement of the existing European Wushu and KungFu Federation (EWUF).

After a lot of “time and effort”(Kung Fu) and a lot of courage and perseverance, a new European Wushu Federation (EUWUF) was founded on 4 January 2020 in Brussels (Belgium).

The Ethics Commission of IWUF started an investigation into the complaints that they received from several of our members against the EWUF. This process is still ongoing, and it takes a lot of time because of the complexity and legal issues associated with these matters.

We must not forget that IWUF takes this case very seriously and that they have temporally suspended EWUF since last April. Subsequently, EWUF appealed against this decision.

IWUF has examined this appeal and considered it inadmissible. Furthermore, the jury of appeal analysed all the arguments the Appellant raised on their merits and dismissed them all.

We are now at the point where we are expecting a final ruling and decision in this matter so that “peace” returns to the European continent and that we can focus on our “core business” of promoting our beloved sport WUSHU.

I would like to thank you all, and especially my dynamic team, who have been ready and supportive throughout the whole period and the patience and perseverance we have all shown.

The last mile is the hardest, but we are going for it!

With kind regards,

Patrick Van Campenhout
EUWUF President

International Tuishou Seminar in Turkey

International Tuishou seminar was held in Sakarya, Turkey from Jan. 31- Feb 2.

Seminar was held by Zilhad Mahmuljin, Croatian national wushu coach and his assitent coach for tuishou, Franjo Vinković.
About 50 participants (judges, coaches and competitiors of all ages) from Turkish wushu federation took part in this attractive seminar.
Participant were delighted by learning new techniques of wushu competition, and learned very fast, so first test competitions already took place during the seminar.

Static and dynamic versions of Tuishou were taught by the seminar leaders.

EUWUF will encourage all members to hold seminars and prepare competitors, coaches and judges for the European championship in Turkey. We expect great response and a massive competition in this attractive wushu combat discipline for all.
